Soichiro is a very rich man that needed to find a wife so he could receive the inheritance from his grandfather. Hes very ambitious and marries Sumi without loving her. But later on he falls in love with Sumi, because he realizes that he needs her.
his character has alot of depth to him which you discover later on ; he loses his family in a fire ;and has had a very hard life while growing up, the image of a fire has scarred him so much that he cannot be around one.
