A mysterious girl who was summoned by the human race for salvation, Luna was known as "the sun which is named the moon", and has been dubbed the "Source of Life", a living embodiment for this world. Braiking ordered his henchmen to dispose of her, because she was a potential threat to his power. Casshern kills her at the beginning of the anime, and her death sparks the slow annihilation of the world. She is seen in various flashbacks at the beginning of each episode, where Casshern is about to kill her. However, it is hinted that she still lives, albeit in an incorporeal form, when she closes the eyes of the dead Akoes. She has since appeared alive, somehow having survived her apparent death at the hands of Casshern. She is shown to aid humans and robots alike that seek her out to halt their ruination.
