Courtesy name Kongming. Zhuge Liang is the seventh member of the Eight Enigma, genius military advisors handpicked by veteran strategist Sima Hui 'Shujing' from his students. As the recipient of the title 'Crouching Dragon' (; Wolong ), one of the two titles conferred on the best of the Enigmas only (the other being 'Fledgeling Phoenix', conferred on the Sixth Enigma Pang Tong), Zhuge Liang's ability to predict the outcomes of battle is praised by his master as godly. It's noted that he's also proficient in the art of shamanism.
Zhuge Liang is a man who strongly upholds traditional values (and equally dislikes men who trample on such values, like Sima Yi), and like his friend Pang Tong, dreams of restoring Imperial Han's golden era. For a long time Zhuge Liang's choice of master has favored Liu Bei, but as he's incessantly torn between achieving his goal and hesitating to realize the bloodshed inevitably meant to follow, he has retreated into hermitage.
