Kaito is a vampire hunter a teacher in training at Cross Academy. Under certain cercumstances he trained to be a vampire hunter with Zero and Ichiru Kiriyuu under Yagari's teaching for a while. Whilst staying with the Kiriyuu twins in his teens he bullied and held a strong hate for Ichiru for simply being weak and holding himself and Zero back, then he killed is older turned vampire brother. Even though all this happened Kaito and Zero became good friends in the time they were together.
